We are all broken. We are all pieces of a broken, circular crystal. Infinitesimally small pieces. There is hardly ever peace, there is hardly ever fit. This world is a multitude of these pieces, jostling back and forth, some trying to find their place, some trying to not hit any others, some trying to touch every piece they see. On the outside of each of our pieces, there are rough spots. Infinitesimally small jagged edges, places where, when they rub against another jagged edge of another small piece of the crystal, friction is created.
This friction is akin to the friction of the earth's crusts, where when there is enough stress between one edge and another, an earthquake occurs - sometimes with the jagged pieces finally sliding past each other, other times with a piece broken off one or the other or both pieces of crust.
So do the small pieces of the large crystal interact. And when one piece finally finds the other piece that it had been in contact with for the eternity before this crystal was shattered, there is joy - earthly love. These two small pieces belong together, nestled against each other. But once this joy occurs, there are still small -- infinitesimally small -- jagged edges on each of the fitting pieces; and when these pieces are hit by the bustling of the other pieces around them, these smaller jagged edges create smaller earthquakes, just between these two fitting pieces. There is always vibration, there are always earthquakes, there is always friction. Sure, there are fleeting moments when everything seems at peace, because no outside forces are jostling these nested pieces at that particular moment; they can revel in their perfection, they can Love as was meant for them to Love.
Only when all the pieces find their places, only when all the jostling is finished, do we see that they form a perfect circle. The crystal is re-formed, there are no more earthquakes, all are touching all others. There is complete Love throughout. There is no more friction. The crystal is complete again. Perfection.
Whose reflection is seen in this crystal circle?
God. The creator of all Love, and Love Itself. It was He who shattered the Crystal, that we may find out just what it means to be perfection; just what it means to not fit -- that we may better ourselves, and provide a cleaner reflection. After all, with all the jostling that the pieces have done, all the dust is sure to have settled into the Void, and all that remains is Us, united as One, with God, in Love. Perfection. For Eternity thereafter.
Amen.
Very cool perspective, never thought about it like that.
