Burning cookie. Cocoa, white chocolate, macadamia, maybe a marshmallow or two. Threw it on the fire out of curiosity. One end on fire, the rest eagerly awaiting its demise. Eagerly? Indeed, eagerly. Cookie's purpose is to die. Overcooked now, probably not delicious anymore. Ashes soon, will remain in fire pit for a time. Life's purpose served.
Some say the world will end in fire,Life's purpose. How to live. What to do.
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favour fire.
But if I had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.
--Robert Frost
Complements. Cyclical, circular. Opposites.
Fire or ice?
